Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.
I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.
Workstation
Windows 11 Pro PC, Intel Core i9-13900k, 64GB RAM (DDR5), GeForce RTX 3070
Before upgrading to this Windows 11 Pro PC with an Intel Core i9-13900k and 64GB of DDR5 RAM, I used (and still use when away from home) a Samsung Galaxy Book 360. The difference is astounding. Despite putting the PC through extremely demanding tasks, including intensive launch simulations, I've never heard the fans kick in even once.
Samsung Odyssey G9
This monitor is so wide that I have to turn my head to see the edges of the screen. It’s a little ridiculous but I love it.
Logitech MX Keys
I’ve tried a lot of keyboards over the years but this one is the best. I love the feel of the keys and the backlighting.
Logitech MX Anywhere 3
I have one of these for every computer I use. They’re the best portable mice I’ve ever used.
Sony WH-1000XM4
These are the best headphones I’ve ever owned. I use them for everything from listening to music to taking calls.
Development tools
Jetbrains Rider
I’ve used every IDE under the sun and I always come back to Rider. It’s the best.
Visual Studio Code
I use VS Code for all of my non-C# development. It’s a great editor and I love the ecosystem.
Azure
I’ve been using Azure for years and I love it. The integration with Visual Studio Code and Rider is fantastic.
Design
Adobe XD
I’ve tried a lot of design tools but I always come back to XD. It’s the best for me.
Productivity
Azure Devops
I use Azure Devops for all of my project management and I love it. The integration with Azure is fantastic.
Notion
I use Notion for all of my notes and documentation. It’s the best tool I’ve found for keeping everything organized.
